I sporadically “lurk" about within the bulletin board and rarely contribute, mainly because I refrain from comment unless solicited. In the case of the President-Elect for APA I am going to make an exception. I recently received an email informing me that Nate Gordon was running for President-Elect. I have known Nate distantly since I have been involved with the APA. I can say without reservation that I have disagreed at times with things he has said or things he has written but I have never once doubted his ability to lead. I know of him to be an extremely disciplined man who has spent the better part of the past 30 years contributing to our profession. He has trained countless examiners in both basic polygraph and advanced studies. He has displayed the determination to write not one, but at least two comprehensive textbooks surrounding interview and interrogation. As someone coming from the private examiner milieu, he understands the challenges that branch of our profession can present one. Nate and I do not always see eye to eye on polygraph related issues but I would be hard pressed to name a better leader from within our organization. He is extremely cool-headed and thoughtful in his actions. My purpose in writing this is to ask APA members reading this post to consider, as I have, what it takes to lead this large and complex organization. I would submit to you those 30 years in private practice, his success in research and publication and his many years of service to the APA undeniably make him the most qualified and best candidate for the office of President-Elect. I would invite any examiners in our area who are not familiar with Nate to make plans to attend the Mississippi Association of Polygraph Examiners seminar in Jackson, July 6-8. Nate will be our featured speaker on Tuesday July 7. Contact me or MAPE president Mike Black at mbinvestigations@bellsouth.net for additional info.[This message has been edited by wjallen (edited 02-14-2009).] IP: Logged |

Mark I do not know you persoanlly, howeevr have followed your research and input into our profession. I want to thank you for your unsolicited endorsement as well those by Jim Matte and Ed Gelb, which I have attached. If elected I promise to give 110% toward the further enhancemnet of our organization and profession. Thanks again, Nate Endorsement by James Matte: Dear APA Members: It is with the greatest pleasure that I unconditionally endorse Nathan J. Gordon for President-Elect of the American Polygraph Association. I have known Nathan for more than three decades and I have been continuously impressed with the depth of his knowledge of polygraph science now referred to by ASTM as forensic psychophysiology. He has displayed the rare brilliance of new ideas and concepts and the courage of his convictions. His devotion of our profession is exemplary. I urge you to please VOTE for Nate Gordon in the forthcoming election as our next President-Elect. Thank you for kind consideration. Best regards, Jim Matte (716) 634-6645 Endorsement by Ed Gelb: To Nathan Gordon, candidate for President-Elect of the APA Nate, as you know I was the president of the APA over thirty years ago. I know what it takes to be a president and I know you have what it takes. I know some candidates will be seeking the position for self aggrandizement rather than to serve the profession and help it grow. You have been eminently successful in the many areas an APA president should be familiar with. You are a hard worker but just as important you are a leader who has a demonstrated track record. I could go on and on with a list or your accomplishments but your record speaks for itself. Author, teacher, spokesperson, warrior, who fights for the cause. I am proud to list my name as one of your many supporters. I encourage every APA member to vote for you Nate because the organization needs a person of your character and ability, Edward I.
